Autumn in My Part of the World

But first an update on 13th Colony Bay Parts 1-3.

Here's your close up of part one:

Here's part 2:

And what little have done on part 3:

Since it's a very long, long, super long piece of fabric, this was the best I could do to get a shot of the whole piece. I fell off the chair or the picture might have had some of part 3 in it. Just call me the cross stitch papparazzi. I will go to any lengths to get the shot for y'all.

All over blogland, (the blogosphere?) people are posting pictures of fall foilage. It's beautiful, really but to me this is the most beautiful sight in the world. My beach, completely empty of people. It's a beautiful afternoon, 85 degrees in October and there is no one about. This people is about as close to Heaven as I can imagine. This is the view to the east:

This is the view to the west:

And this is the sky this afternoon over the Gulf. I love this place so much.

And here is Riley:

It's looking wonderful. Proud of you, wish I was that far on my own. When you finish maybe you'll let me post a pic on my blog to show the first person that I know of that finished it. Donna

The 13th Colony is *fan-freakin-tastic!*

And my favorite part about fall is the empty beaches too. We finally get past tourist seasons. We have Winter Texan season, Spring Break, Summer Tourists, Mexican tourists - they arrive later, and then a sweet sweet break in there.

You enjoy that empty beach! I can't wait for the empty beach in the winter when a Norther comes through!

Melissa, 13th Colony is a masterpiece!! You are going gang busters on it..good for you!!

The weather here in the midwest is starting to feel fallish and I couldn't be happier...it's hard for me to drink hot chocolate and eat caramel apples when it's above 50 degrees! : )

Wow - your stitching is lovely - but the beach pictures - to DIE for!! So, I don't get the title of your blog - I don't remember any "3 bedroom ranches" on the Gulf. Looking at your photos - I was reminded of Navarre Florida - then I saw your photos of the Santa Rosa theater. Two of my childrens (we're in Minnesota) went to UWF in Pensacola - you brought back great memories p thank you!

Beautiful project. Riley is so cute. I go to the beach in the Fall & Winter more frequently than in the Summer months. I like the empty beach & crisp breeze off Lake Michigan.
