Reasons 1,079 & 1,080

Why I should never be allowed near a sewing machine. This was how my sewing session went yesterday:

This is just wrong:

I was 100% sure that the ribbon was no where near my seams but apparently I was wrong.

And because I'm 9 yrs old, seeing this receipt amused me. Do you see what I'm talking about....right there next to the word "homespun"?
Carol asked about my 100 Days commitment to Lady of the Flag, well let's say I'm behind a few days, like 20. I hope to get back into a stitching routine when everyone is well and my time is my own once again.
Have a great weekend everyone. It's a Lord of the Rings weekend on TNT so I will be chillin' with Aragon and the boys and working on various projects.

Melissa, I feel your pain! lol! How many times have I done things like that on a sewing machine! Argh! As for the receipt -- well, all I can say is, wanna hang out with my teenage son? lol! No, seriously, I admit, I laughed hysterically when I saw it!

Where exactly does one buy homespun ass? Shouldn't we be spinning it at home?

Melissa,I know how frustrating that is. I've stitched ribbon into the side so many times.I've learned to pin it out of the way.
Homespun A$$$- what an interesting purchase.

Ooops!! I usually stitch the top seam and then tape the hanger in the middle of the piece before stitching the rest of the seams. I remove the tape after turning the piece right sides out.

Hmmm, I sewed my first hanger the wrong way round so that it was inside the ornament when I turned the right sides out. But this happened just once, lol.

Reading about your frustration with your stitching project quickly made me realize that we are, indeed, kindred sewing spirits. My sewing machine is NOT my friend. Hope you can make friends with yours.

LOL!! There is a reason why I send my stuff out to a finisher! I have done that sort of thing too many times. There's nothing like stitching up an ornament and realizing that the hanger for the ornament is INSIDE the ornament. Der. Love the homespun ass bit. Maybe it's God's way of telling you that you need to get some Homespun Ass as well as Stitch Ass. LOL

I think the ribbon thing happens a lot because there's always a warning about it in any directions. Don't feel bad; you're not alone!

Doesn't everyone want to get a little homespun ass? LOL!
