Amish Mistake Giveaway

Finally got a chance to get what I think is a better picture of my darling Ichabod but I did think about Anna's comment about how we don't want to be "that" person, the one searching for mistakes in needlework. At the time I posted I thought it would be fun because my mistake is pretty in your face but after taking a gazillion pictures and even close-ups of the mistake itself, it's not as obvious as I thought. So if you want a chance to win my gently used Primitive Needle Ichabod Seabury chart-I wrote on the last page, whoops, and a piece of Picture This Plus 40ct Swamp linen to stitch your Ichabod on, all you have to do is leave a comment to this post. If you leave one somewhere else on the blog I might not see it. I don't want anyone screaming shenanigans. I will use the random number generator to pick a winner, of course I must figure out how to do that. Ichabod Seabury
The Primitive Needle
40ct Swamp Linen-PTP
Belle Soie Silks

My current WIP can be seen below:

Rachael Holmes 1842
Heartstring Samplery
32ct linen aged by me
A potpourri of threads from the stash that matched Beth's thread's as closely as possible.

I'm stitching Rachael 1x2 on the 32ct and I'm loving the effect. The band to the bottom left is supposed to be eyelets, I messed up and made Smyrna crosses and decided I was not going to frog them since they looked just fine to me. As odd as it may sound I didn't have any of the WDWs in the stash or they were kitted with other projects so I pulled out my DMC color card and started matching over-dyed threads to the DMC equivalent. This is a fun, funky wonderful sampler to stitch. I don't want to put it down. For more of Beth Twist's designs check out her blog and there's a link to her etsy shop on her sidebar.

And finally, if you have not listened to the Glee Season 1 Volume 1 soundtrack, check it out. It's great. I have listened to it over and over and over. We've watched Glee from the very beginning, the 14 year old couldn't be bothered and he loves the CD. Now he wishes the show was still on. I mean seriously, it's way more entertaining than the current programing. Just sayin'.

Please enter me.
I just love your recent finishes.
Garden of Evil is on my wishlist, maybe I will acquire it during a superbowl sale.
I think needlework mistakes make it special, you are the only one that knows for sure you stitched it by looking for it out of a dozen
Thanks for your generous give-away

I would love to enter your contest for "Ichabod Seabury". Love the pattern and the fabric. Not sure why I never bought this one. Sorry about your mistake, but I am sure no one will notice. Happy Stitching!

Whew! I didn't want to be "that" person either but I would love to be entered in your drawing. It seems I can't get through an size piece without making some sort of little mistake - we should take comfort in that we are not alone. :o)

I'd love to be entered in your drawing, Melissa. Thanks! I've always loved this chart. I love your Rachael Holmes too! Beautiful! The smyrnas look great!

I was just saying today about a piece of my own work as I was busily pointing out what I could've done better "you know if this was someone else's work I wouldn't dream of critizing it". Ichabod looks fab, you did a great job!

What a lovely giveaway, Melissa! Glad I don't have to try and find your mistake 'cause it certainly didn't make itself known to me - I think it looks fantastic! Love the Rachel sampler!

It's beautiful! I can't see it and it's always uniquely yours. I won't talk about my mistakes on Quaker Garden!

Please enter me in your drawing!

No need to enter me in the giveaway, Melissa... and I still can't find the mistake! Your Rachel is coming along so nicely--it is SO flippin' pretty.

We love Glee here. I think we have seen 5 episodes so far, and we have the CD. Love love love it. I am usually a pain in the butt about making everybody delete stuff off the DVR once we've watched it but I've let them keep Glee on so we can play various parts over and over. :D

Your stitching is looking great!

My 14 year old DD loves Glee. So much, she bought the series on iTunes and asked for the CD's for Christmas.

Love Rachael Holmes! Love! Have I already told you that my high school bf has a recurring role in Glee? Not like I watch it or anything.

Ichabod really looks fantastic! And so does Rachel...love love love her! I'd love to be entered in the drawing too!

I totally agree with you about Glee. Can't wait till this show returns to prime time! I bought the vol. 1 soundtrack and have downloaded some of the songs from vol. 2 and I got the DVD, too.

Love the fabric on Ichabod - I've got a friend stitching a Quaker design on the same.

And now I'm off to look at the Rachel sampler...

Make that the Rachael sampler.

Easy mistake for me to make as that is my daughter's name.

Ichabod is lovely. I wouldn't worry about the mistake at all as it makes it uniquely yours. I would love to be entered in the drawing.

You did a great job. ♥
I can't see "the horrible mistake" either. ;o)
I could only guess. *Ü*
So I'm glad that's not neccessary anymore to play along for the give away.
Please enter me in the draw.

OH Melissa, Ichabod came out so wonderful. You are getting so much done this year. I am so excited for you. Keep it up. Your WIP is gorgeous too. (((Melissa)))

I love this - the color just makes it!! Believe me, no one will notice the mistake. You might see it every time you look at it, but no one else will!

I would never finish anything if I corrected every mistake, (even if I only corrected the ones I knew about), if I have to look for it to find it, it stays the way it is stitched :) Would love to enter the giveaway, thanks! barbara (in Tennessee)

Please enter me! Had to laugh about being "that" person...I once showed a finished sampler to an older friend. Without bothering to even look at the front, she turned it over, saying, "It's the back that counts."
What a bunch of nonsense!

Ichabod looks so pretty and you are right, the fabric is a wonderful colour.
I love all the little animals on Rachael. Very nice project.

I'm confused...which is easily done. Are we supposed to say what mistake we think it is?

Lucy said...

I would love to have a chance at Ichabod...thanks!

I think your Ichabod is wonderful and that color linen is not easy to stitch on. And no one will know of any "mistakes" other than you I'm sure. (guests to my house rarely even glance at my needlework it seems) No need to add me to the drawing, just stopping by to say 'hi'. :)

I love the piece and would love to make it for our reconstructed old mill circa 1870. mistakes arent mistakes they are character.
